Rio de Janeiro – BrazilThe Starlight Initiative was present for two important reasons at the IAU General Assembly, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in August 3-14, 2009. On August 14th, the Resolution on “Defence of the night sky and the right to Starlight” has been approved during the Closing Ceremony. On August 6th, John Hearnshaw presented “The Starlight Reserve, the New Zealand Experience”.
