The island of  La Palma (Biosphere Reserve) hosted the first meeting of the Scientific Committee of the Starlight 2007 Initiative on November 23-24, 2006. The meeting is part of the  preparatory process for the forthcoming Starlight International Conference of April 2007. During the meeting motives and objectives of the initiative were debated, as well as the  contents of the International Conference that will be held on the same island in April 2007. Both the Initiative and the Conclusions of the meeting were finally  explained to TRH the King and Queen of Spain .
